The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Synopsis
In the moonlight, a tiny egg rested on a leaf. One Sunday morning the warm sun arrived and PLOP!..., out of the egg emerged a thin and hungry caterpillar.
Carle conceived this book in 1969. Despite the passage of time, it retains all its freshness and relevance, being one of the author's best-known works: it has been translated into more than 30 languages and sold to more than twenty million people worldwide. The life cycle of a caterpillar, from when it emerges from its cocoon until it transforms into a butterfly, is the guiding thread of the story. Following the narrative, readers journey through the days of the week, the numbers, and discover a wide assortment of fruits and other delicious treats. The course of nature causes the small caterpillar to grow considerably until the moment it builds its cocoon and metamorphosis occurs. In the central pages of the book, the bas-relief stands out, through which parts of the caterpillar are represented during the progressive ingestion of food.
